Purpose of the Job

To operate Sandiacre FFS machine, to form, fill and seal bags with the correct poly and weight with speed and quality. Adhere to safety regulations and report all faults of machine too Engineering timeously. Keep the Sandiacre and surrounding areas clean and hygienic at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the packing machine to its optimal capacity.
Perform any changes to form, fill and seal bags with finished product.
Keep to the production plan and make changes to have the right poly for the right
product.
Setting up and calibration of metal detector.
Perform the right procedure for when a bag is rejected.
Choose the right product to be weighed.
Calibration of check weighers.

Ensure that the Engineering department is aware of all breakdowns.
Give feedback to Senior Packing Operator and Packing Supervisor on give away.
Consult with Quality Department on all quality aspects.
Control the quality for bag seals, Julian date codes, metal detection and product
Weights.
Maintain good housekeeping, safety and hygiene standards on shift at all times.
Ensure all poly rolls are scanned in on SAP.

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:
Grade 12.
Computer Literate.
1 years’ experience with Packaging Equipment.

Able to handle conflict.
Diligent and good attention to detail.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good problem solving skills.
Required to work shifts
