Denny Mushrooms currently has an exciting career opportunity available for an Operations Manager to be based in Krugersdorp, Gauteng.

The Operations Manager will be required to oversee all aspects of production at the site- from the hands-on, day-to-day production through to staff management and financial performance. This is a demanding role in a technical environment and requires a unique candidate with a strong combination of management experience and exposure to controlled environment production of perishable products.

Key Performance Areas:

Management of production budgets (including planning and development of budgets and costings)
General oversight of production, harvesting and packhouse
Oversight sales and distributions from the facility
Ensuring standards are met and maintained for audit purposes
Oversight of maintenance program for the facility
Managing skilled staff in various departments (HR, admin, maintenance, technical)
Labour management in a unionized environment (wage negotiations, IR, grievances etc.)
Requirements:

A relevant degree-level qualification
Candidates with post-graduate studies in finance/ management preferred
Excellent mathematical aptitude and financial/ business acumen a must
Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000
A general background in an intensive agricultural environment
Excellent track-record of managing staff, processes and procedures
Proven, hands-on management experience in a production facility
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (fluency in English & another local language)
Ability to work in a unionized environment
Good general understanding of mechanics and maintenance
Full computer literacy
