1. The posts contained in this circular are vacant and are hereby advertised externally for appointment purposes as contemplated in National Instruction 6 of 2005. The contents of this circular will be available on the South African Police Service Intranet and will also be circulated to all e-mail users by means of Communications Nodal point and must be available to all employees of the South African Police Service.
2. The generic minimum requirements applicable to the posts, except where it is specified differently, are as follows:
Applicants must display competency in the post-specific core functions.*Be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English.*Be a South African Citizen.* A Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) *At least a valid light motor vehicle driver’s license*Must have no criminal record or pending criminal / departmental cases.*Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and fingerprint verification.
3. Post : Helicopter Pilot: (Lieutenant Band C) x3

Post Requirements:
Minimum of 800 hours Helicopter flying hours’ experience.
Experience on twin-turbine and single turbine Helicopters.
Helicopter commercial pilot license.
Instrument rating on Helicopters.
Core Functions
Fly R44 Helicopters, AS350 B3 Helicopter, B0105 Helicopter for aerial policing duties.
Maintain aviation safety standards and policies.
Conduct standby duties as pilot.
Keep and manage certain administrative functions in terms of set regulations,
Liaise with external/internal role players.
4. Post : Fixed Wing Pilot: (Lieutenant Band C) x3

Post Requirements:
Minimum of 700 flying hours fixed wing experience (summary of logbook)
CPL Fixed Wing license
Instrument rating on Fixed Wing Aircraft.
Core Functions
Conduct aerial policing duties.
Planning of all flights and operations in conjunction with operational room
and relevant role players.
Conduct maintenance test flights.
Perform test flights after helicopter servicing and repairs.
Maintain aviation safety, standards and policies.
Operate helicopters within its limitations.
Develop operational flying skills of Co-pilots.
5. Post : Aviation Technical Recorder W/O (re-advert)
Section : Air Wing
Location : National Heliport and Wonder boom

Post requirements:
2 years appropriate experience.
Must have aviation technical knowledge.
Must be computer literate with Aircraft Management or Air Wing System
Core functions:
Coordinate aircraft hours with the Air Wing units.
Prepare aircraft maintenance work-pack.
Open and close aircraft maintenance job card using Aircraft Management
System (AMS) or Air Wing System.
Monitor remaining life of aircraft components.
Coordinate the remaining life of aircraft components with the Aircraft
Maintenance Engineers.
Coordinate the Part and Materials used during maintenance with the Technical
stores personnel.
Ensure correct completion of work-pack documents and aircraft maintenance
CAA and Manufacturer’s logbooks.
Update the aircraft status report.
Ensure compliance of the Air Directives and Service Bulletins.
6. Post : Cabin Crew: (Sergeant Band A)

Location : Wonderboom Airwing Pretoria

Salary : R 168 093 per annum.
Post Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years cabin crew experience; communication skills. Must be in possession of a valid cabin crew license.
Core functions:
Provide cabin Customer care services for Senior Managers and other passengers on board the SAPS aircraft,
Passenger handling,
Provide In-flight Service and procedures
Provide pre-flight safety briefings
Provide First-Aid assistance and Emergency response drills.
