Requirements :
Microsoft Certified Professional or Comp T/A A+
Three (3) years Microsoft server support experience including installation and OS builds
Basic Microsoft networking skills
Basic networking skills, e.g. (TCPIP< DNS< DHCP< PING, etc...)

Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to translate technical issues in a clear and understandable way
Excellent customer care skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Logical and analytical in approaches to problem solving
Displays a responsible attitude to following procedures, keeping records and asset management
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Hardware Support :
Ensure that servers are properly installed into the data centre racks and securely fastened
Ensure servers are properly labelled and tagged, asset tag and labeleed as per the ICT server naming convention standard
Ensure servers are physically connected to the data centre network using the standard network connection for servers, e.g. Ethernet
Ensure servers are connected to power
Ensure that servers are registered in the Hardware Asset Management register
Provide technical hardware support for servers including troubleshooting
Inform the IT infrastructure team and the IT Manager for infrastructure of any changes to hardware servers
Operating System & Operations Support :
Ensure the server Operating System is configured as per the Server Base Build standard
Ensure that the Microsoft SCOM agent is installed on the server and configured as per the Server Base Build standard
Ensure that the standard ICT malware / anti-virus agent is installed on the server and configured as per the Server Base Build standard
Ensure the server is configured for remot access
Ensure that the ICT standard backup agent is installed on the server and configured as per the Server Base Build standard
Ensure that the Microsoft network configuration on the server is correct, e.g. TCIP< DHCP and DNS
Provide technical operational server support including troubleshooting Operating System, network, storage and backup issues
Ensure any physical or software changes to the server adhere to the IT Change Management procedure
On a daily and weekly basis, monitor critical and important server health checks through Microsoft SCOM or physical check (direct access to server)
Identify and highlight any operational risks that could coimprise the optimal running of the server including operating system, storage, backup, security, etc...
Application Support :
Ensure applications including middleware is installed as per OEM or Software developer specifications and recommendations
Ensure any services installed by the application are monitored by Microsoft SCCM and SCOM
Draft documentation pertaining to specific requirements pertaining to the installation and operation of an application on a server
