University of Johannesburg is actively recruiting a Marketing Manager in the Faculty of Humanities. The Faculty of Humanities comprises about 170 academic staff and 40 non-academic staff, spread across 14 academic departments and 8 centres, with presence on all 4 campuses. There are approximately 5500 students in the Faculty. Department: Dean's Office
Description
Responsibilities:

To plan, implement, control and evaluate marketing and communications programmes as part of the Faculty of Humanities marketing strategy, adhering to the corporate marketing strategy of the University of Johannesburg
Implement strategic marketing plan and budget for the Faculty of Humanities
Develop marketing and communication programmes to achieve set objectives in events management, advertising and publications etc.
Develop and manage the Faculty of Humanities sub brand within the UJ brand
Identify and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Plan, write and publish internal and external publications for the Faculty of Humanities
Update and manage the Faculty of Humanities website
Responsible for all internal and external exhibitions, including the UJ Open Day, Faculty of Humanities Open Day
Collecting information from departments and centres across the Faculty on their achievements, converting these into high quality copy for publication on various platforms

Assisting in the updating of departmental websites to make their programmes and activities more visible
Responsible for relationship building with Faculty of Humanities alumni and industry
Responsible for all other marketing related duties assigned by the Dean, Faculty of Humanities


Profile
Post-graduate degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations or any other relevant field.
Operational level experience in marketing communication (minimum 5 years)
Good knowledge of the tertiary education sector will be an advantage
Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills (networking and relationship building)
High level of creativity
Time management
Advanced social media marketing skills

Database management
Graphic design skill
