Job purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to co-ordinate activities in support of the marketing department and the business which include aspects such as assisting with events, campaigns, the sales team, the trade counter and marketing administration.

Key Performance Areas

Co-ordination of marketing support activities by providing Key Account Managers and Internal Key Account Managers with support both proactively and reactively which include:

email communication
printed and electronic collateral
distribution of promotional items
toolkits
Custodian of the Trade counter and reception area

Management of marketing collateral in the relevant areas
Recommending ideas, budget and plan to improve areas and user experience
Running of relevant campaigns for the Trade counter to improve sales and online shopping
Co-ordination of internal and external events

Includes the ability to draft a project plan, implement the plan and report on each event
Work with a designated budget
Manage suppliers and the quality of work expected for delivery
Co-ordinate other marketing support activities which include PR, photography, social media, etc. for each event.
Measurement and reporting responsibilities include:

Tracking all relevant activities and usage with regards to promotional merchandise and marketing collateral on a monthly basis
Tracking marketing expenses against the specified marketing budget allocation on monthly basis
Provide accurate data for Marketing Reports within the agreed timeframes on a monthly basis
General duties relating to marketing department administration including:

Department expenditure raising purchase orders, ensuring payment of invoices, timely communication with suppliers regarding payment and stakeholder communication with the finance team.
Communicating, distribution and monitoring of marketing merchandise, collateral and branding.
Social Media Ambassador for internal communications
Providing marketing support to sales, customer service and other areas of the business
Assisting the marketing team with liaising with suppliers on adhoc marketing material production e.g. signage, business cards etc. This includes providing the marketing team and the business with support on marketing campaigns.
Perform other duties as assigned and required by the Marketing Director.
Key Performance Measurements

Timeous and accurate achievement of objectives.
Developed professional writing skill which facilitates delivering quality reports, copy and business correspondence.
Professional, clear and relevant monthly reports submitted by the 8th of each month.
Quality, integrity and frequency of information recorded within the necessary systems.
Ability to effectively prioritise time and workload according to objectives.
Ability to use initiative and make informed decisions.
Ongoing development of professional skills.
Education & Qualification requirements

Diploma or Degree Qualification related to Marketing, Communications, Project Management, Events or Administration
Skills/Requirements

2 - 4 years successful marketing experience ideally gained within a business-to-business company or agency (Advertising, Eventing or Direct Marketing) environment.
Ability to clearly demonstrate and apply commercial acumen by taking initiative within the scope of the role.
Excellent professional communication skills; face-to-face, written and telephonically.
Perceptive listener and corresponder who has the ability to understand customer and internal stakeholder needs, interpret them and deliver their expected requirements.
Ability to develop an understanding of our customer segmentation as well as our business and recommend appropriate activities within the scope of your role to improve customer experience and revenue.
Capability to create rapport, build relationships and communicate with enthusiasm, both internally and externally, across all levels of hierarchy.
Solid computer literacy including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. SAP experience beneficial.
Social media experience desirable.
Ability to simultaneously work on different projects.
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to produce results under pressure.
Attention to detail.
Confident, assertive and self-motivated.
Ability to work on their own as well as within a team.
