Job Purpose


To align the Legal portfolio to achieve National and Strategic objectives, regulate and
coordinate and provide operational direction to the Legal Function and processes nationally
within The Company and act as a liaison between The Company and the Dispute Resolution Centre.


Core duties will include managing all legal risks to the organisation, ensuring legal compliance
and proper contract management within the organisation, and providing legal opinions and
advice, contract services and litigation management. The incumbent will also be required to
contribute to and ensure implementation of strategic organisational objectives as well as
provision of operational direction for the legal function.

Qualifications

. Bachelorโ€™s Degree from a recognised tertiary institution (Minimum Requirement)
. Masterโ€™s Degree in Law (Advantageous)
. Admitted Attorney (Minimum Requirement)
. Other Business Management/ Leadership Related Qualifications/Certifications
(Advantageous)


Knowledge/Experience/Skills/Requirements

. Strong management and leadership skills required
. Ability to build effective relationships with all stakeholders at all levels required
. Financial acumen with emphasis on revenue collection within the legal environment required
. In-depth knowledge of the Labour Relations Act and related employment Legislation and
Labour Court processes and procedures with sound knowledge of the Civil procedure is
required
. Knowledge of the Motor Industry Bargaining Councilโ€™s Collective Agreements and Dispute
Resolution Centre Processes and Procedures as well as the relevant governing Legislation
i.e. Credit Act etc will be a definite advantage
. High level communication skills โ€“ verbal and written

. Good interpersonal skills
. Ability to interpret and analyse information to facilitate sound decision making and problem
solving
. Computer Literacy (MS Word and Excel)
. Must be prepared to travel
