We have a superb opportunity for a junior social media and events coordinator to join the growing marketing department at an extremely highly regarded tertiary education institution. You will be based in Cape Town’s southern suburbs. This is an exciting, diverse role that involves the monitoring and management of various social media channels as well as event coordination. If you’re super organised, have a sharp eye for detail, a good command of the English language and a passion for both social media and eventing, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities
Coordinating all social media accounts including scheduling, posting, engaging on all social media platforms reporting to the digital manager.
Assisting in developing social content spanning multiple formats (images, text, links, and video), and execute a content calendar across various social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
Assist with training co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way
Facilitate online conversations with potential students and respond to queries swiftly and accurately
Oversee social media accounts’ layout
Coordinate events across the Cape Town, Durban, and online campuses reporting into the junior brand manager
Liaise with campus teams and ensure consistency in activations across the campuses
Manage suppliers and coordinating event budgets
Manage design elements required for events with internal or external designers
Assisting with coordinating the school expos along with the admissions team
Identifying new event opportunities for the college
Other duties as required by the marketing department
Requirements

The successful candidate must have/be:
Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, or public relations
Six to 12 months’ previous social media work experience on the all platforms including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, etc. – this is non-negotiable
Experience with social media monitoring software - an asset
Experience in event-planning – advantageous
Excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communication
Proven ability to effectively handle diverse and challenging situations with poise and diplomacy
Ability to manage priorities and conflicting demands
Well organised, detail orientated, capable of multitasking
Able to travel
Exceptional attention to detail
Solid understanding of digital marketing principles
Strong team player
Deadline driven
Personable, presentable and articulate
Pro-active
Multitasking and analytical skills
