Job Overview
Our great client, based in Cape Town, is currently looking for an Accounting Manager.

The Accounting Manager works closely with the sales and reservations departments as well as the accounts departments of the various group companies. He/she is responsible for the day-to-day running of our clients’ accounts department, ensuring that payments are received from the clients and made to our suppliers, while maintaining appropriate cash-flows. Furthermore, the role entails basic bookkeeping and preparation of all relevant information for our external accounting firms in South Africa and Namibia.

Main Duties:

Preparing data for statutory accounts that are submitted to external accounting firm
Managing petty cash transactions
Reconciling finance accounts and direct debits
Controlling credit and chasing debt
Monthly expense controls and budgeting forecast in order to enable various financial transactions between group companies
Preparing monthly cash flow statements
Verifying accounts transactions and submitting to accounting firms for management ledger

Reports sales taxes and VAT by calculating requirements on paid invoices
Preparing VAT returns for South Africa and Namibia (info to be submitted to accounting firms in the respective countries)
Paying accounts on behalf of the organisation
Performing payroll administration duties
Tracking Budget Expenses
Collecting and providing information for audit inquiries and giving assistance to auditors
Requirements:

Relevant tertiary education
Experience in accounts department
German language skills advantageous
Numerically and mathematically inclined
Great attention to detail
Absolute Thorough
Absolute trustworthy (police clearance required)
Salary: experience related
