IT Administrator (SAP)

National manufacturing company in the upper highway wants to employ an IT Administrator.

Main purpose of the position:

Administering and maintaining the SAP, IT Infrastructure and Telecommunications systems within the business including servers, network and telephones, as well as assisting with recommendations and implementation of cost saving procedures and purchases to keep the business up to date with current technology trends.

Key responsibilities:

· SAP Infrastructure

o Manage and maintain Linux Operating System – file system, devices and user accounts

o Monitor and troubleshoot Database environment

o Maintain and troubleshoot Presentation Server

o Maintain and troubleshoot SCAN environment

o Liaise with respective Hardware & Software Vendor

VMWare Infrastructure

o Manage and maintain VMWare infrastructure.

o Monitor and troubleshoot vSphere environment.

o Use VMware vMotion to plan downtime and upgrades.

Windows Server Environment

o Update, maintain and make necessary changes to Server configuration. (including after-hours critical support)

o Manage and maintain Active Directory (AD) with group policies.

o Manage User Accounts. (Creation, Deletion, Permissions, and VPN Access)

o Install updates and patches and ensure that anti-virus systems are up to date to ensure stability, security and functionality of systems.

Backup and Restoration

o Ensure that the SAP backup system is operating correctly and backups successful.

o Restore backups when required. (Files, VM, databases)

Network Infrastructure

o Maintain the current network, make configuration changes, plan and implement additions.

o Update, maintain and make necessary changes to firewall configuration.

o Manage and maintain Wireless infrastructure.

o Create wireless access for board meetings.

o Reserve IP addresses.

o Telephone system configuration and maintenance.

Access Control and CCTV Infrastructure

o Access control systems configuration, support and maintenance including time and attendance system maintenance.

o Security surveillance systems configuration, support and maintenance.

o Assist with security and access control systems as well as planning and implementation of expanding systems

o Installing and updating software.

o Maintenance

Day to Day

o Desktop support and troubleshooting

o Assist users with day to day issues

o Assist with asset tagging and control

o Assist with and make recommendations for IT hardware and software purchasing

o Liaise with Service Providers as required

o Cost saving and system improvements for the business

o Manage and report faults as well as set up users and maintain the telephone management system

o Identify cost effective IT solutions



Key Skills and Competencies

SAP experience a must.

Have excellent time management, confidentiality & communication skills.

Strong working knowledge of Windows Server 2008 & 2012, VMware ESXi 6, VMWare vCenter, Veeam Backup & Replication and Symantec Backup Exec.

Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs and port filtering.

Monitoring of firewall and Configuring network switches wireless access points and firewalls (Cisco, HP and Sophos XG).

Knowledge of Windows SQL 2008 & 2012 server.

Knowledge of Dell and HP servers and SAN.
