Function
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the successful incumbent will be expected to perform HR generalist functions by supporting the day to day operational aspect of the Human Resources Department and standard operating procedures as well as assist with the execution of strategies to enable business success
Required Experience & Qualifications
Appropriate qualification
Minimum of 2 -3 yearsβ experience in Human Resources functions/ disciplines in a similar role.
Good understanding of South African labour legislation (i.e. LRA,BCEA,EEA,SDA) and Human Resources best practises
Proficiency and proven understanding of operational Human Resources practises and processes
Experience in working with Employee Benefits i.e. Provident and Medical aid
Professional disposition
Conflict resolution, problem solving and decision making abilities
Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
Strong planning, organising and administrative skills
People oriented and results driven
Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication and email etiquette
Enthusiastic ,creative and positive can do attitude
Understanding of the hospitality environment
Ability to work flexible hours as and when required
Technical skills
Proficiency in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Proficiency in Marriott HR systems preferable
Key Responsibilities
Be an overall support to the Human Resources operations
Ability to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
Facilitate the recruitment and selection process
Initiate and take responsibility for specific HR projects
Embed HR practices and principles into the Business
Compile & Input Information for monthly HR Reports
Assist with legislative compliance and submissions
Assist with Employee Relations , Disciplinary practises ,
Assist with the maintenance and update of workplace profile and BBBEE related information
Coordinate Human Resources Communication to business
Ability to engage and build relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers
Maintaining and developing job descriptions
Assist, coach and support business with Human Resources practises and processes
Assist and support departments with reference to policy, IR and Employee development.
Assist with the implementation of Human Resources initiatives into business as and when required
Co-ordinate Hotel Wellness initiatives
In collaboration drive Take Care Initiatives
Ensure departmental meetings are held in accordance with company policy
Complete all daily requirements as well as any other reasonable tasks and duties as assigned by senior management due to the operational requirements of the business
