A vacancy exists at Grafton Everest, a Division of Bravo Group Manufacturing, to be based in Durban, Verulam, for the following position

HR Manager
In line with Bravo Group Manufacturing Employment Equity objectives, preference will be given to applicants from designated groups as specified by the Grafton Everest Employment Equity plan.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a M +3 Diploma in Human Resource Management
Bachelors Degree or BTech degree in Human Resource Managament preferrable
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 5 year’s experience as an HR officer in a Manufacturing environment preferably within the ambit of a Bargaining Council
At least two years, working experience with a time and attendance software.
Good IR experience and exposure to having worked with trade unions, at plant and bargaining council level.
Advanced experience in MS Excel is essential.
Experience with the administration of a salary payroll and wages of approximately 700 employees.

 

 
Exposure to all HR processes , with a strong Industrial relations focus.
Experience in the processing of payroll in a bargaining council environment is advantageous.
A manufacturing background with exposure to Lean Manufacturing is advantageous.
The ability to communicate, clearly and accurately in English.

JOB COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
The ability to ensure that the Branch’s manpower plan is met and adhered to by ensuring that the manufacturing plant is optimally and correctly manned fior current and future needs
Must be able to completely manage the planning of recruitment & selection and retention of all staff.
The ability to complete the entire take-on and on-boarding process; from engagement to termination.
The ability to deal with all industrial relations matters; which includes providing advice to line management, conducting disciplinary hearings, shop steward meetings, attending to bargaining council meetings and the administration of the main agreement.
The ability to facilitate adherence to the company rules and policies by advising employees and assisting supervisors and foreman with the drafting of written warnings and ensuring the fairness and consistency of sanctions (especially dismissals), following disciplinary inquiries.
The ability to monitor, intervene and resolve individual and collective grievances as well as other matters of concern.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legislation and bargaining council agreements related to the furniture industry.
The ability to hold routine shop-steward meetings, management meetings, EE meetings, and Skills Development meetings.
Must be able to act as the company’s designated manager for employment equity and fill the role and function of the company’s Skills Development Facilitator.
Must be able to manage the entire employment equity process, including; Equity plan, monitoring progress, and all reports.
The ability to oversee the company’s training plan.
The ability to represent the company at CCMA in conciliations and arbitrations.
The ability to coach and mentor managers.
Must be able to manage the Bi Annual, performance score card system.
Add value to various Lean Manufacturing projects, and participate actively in all factory processes.
The ability to implement and maintain an accurate administration system relating to all personnel related matters.
The ability to write and generate all reports; including management reports (absenteeism, HR Report, Manning, payroll reports and BBBEE reports) out of the HRIS system and the Time & Attendance system.
The ability to maintain accurate organograms of the organisational structure, including head counts.
The ability to develop KPI's for all jobs.
The ability to identify individual and department deviations using performance management software and act on these deviations in a planned and progressive manner to improve organisational performance.
Formulate and implement the organisation’s succession plan and any deviations that are addressed.
The ability to manage absenteeism.
The ability to manage and process wages and payroll from start to finish.
The ability to complete all related paper work and records related to the HRIS correctly.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the administrative requirements and systems relating to the running and processing of payroll.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of VIP and the reporting tools in VIP.
The ability to obtain authorization of payment of the salary submission to head office.
The ability to handle all payroll /wage related queries.
The ability to monitor wage and salary related variances and make the relevant parties aware of such.
The ability to execute all relevant ad hoc HR and payroll related tasks
