A position currently exists for the Fitter and Turner (Mechanic) within the Technical Services and the successful candidate’s responsibilities will include the following:

Requirements:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities that are required for the job:

4 years Artisan's certificate in fitting, turning & mechanical (trade test)
4-6 years in fitter and turner (mechanical) experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package,
Good communication, Customer Service skills, Interpersonal skills and Diversity Management skills.
Electrical skills
Valid Driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
To maintain and upgrade equipment, machinery, plant & infrastructures in the KNP
To ensure that all facilities and operations are in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

To maintain on a routine and emergency basis all generators, pumps and water installations.
To do regular inspections and ensure efficient functioning of water and sewer plant including equipment and reticulation.
To ensure compliance with Licensing agreements applicable on waste site operations and swimming pools.
To perform inspections, schedules and checks on infrastructure including firefighting systems, camp fences and keep records
To provide on the job training to Trade Workers and General Workers.
To supervise and administer the maintenance section.
To ensure that all maintenance operations are performed within the approved budget.
