Financial Markets Writer

This job requires you to write market commentary on specific currencies and commodities covered by MarketsNow (www.marketsnow.com). Specifically, you will have to summarize economic data and recent events into easily understandable daily market updates.

Given the nature of the role, it is extremely important that you can write and explain concepts clearly. The ability to write clearly (using grammatically correct English) is much more important than possessing a deep knowledge in the subject area. Note that full training, covering economics, financial market analysis and other financial theory, will be provided as part of the role. This role requires a background in either writing (e.g. journalism) or economic research. This role will initially require a full 8-hour working day, due to the learning curve associated with the process. Over time, the role should not take more than 5 working hours a day to complete.

MarketsNow is an online research service focused on currencies and commodities and based in Zug, Switzerland. This is a full-time remote role that is home-based and location independent. The indicated salary is R35,000+ per month.

Responsibilities

Vets financial sites and financial data sources to gather and monitor information regarding developments in financial markets
Writes briefs and provides commentary on recent developments, financial data and economic events.
May perform other research tasks as assigned.
Requirements

Must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Economics, Journalism, Finance/Banking, or equivalent.
At least 1 year of economic or writing experience. Fresh graduates will be considered if candidates can demonstrate a working knowledge of financial markets or macroeconomics
Outstanding written communication skills required, including solid grasp of English language and grammar.
Able to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
