Executive Housekeeper - Harrismith

Employer: First Group (Club Leisure Group)
Purpose of the position

Responsible for the overall management of the Housekeeping & Laundry department
Management of Housekeeping staff & co-ordinating work rosters
Assign employees their duties and inspect work for performance to prescribed standard of cleanliness
Assist room attendants in the cleaning of the units and public areas
Do daily unit inspections for cleanliness
Create a culture that reports maintenance issues
Create and keep record of inventories, stock to ensure adequate supplies and avoid stock loss.
Responsible for all stock takes, stock variances and condemned items
Conduct training and improve the standard of service currently offered in the rooms.
Skilfully manage and address issues relating to performance, and ill-discipline
Consistently recognize and encourage good performance

Add to a customer centric culture that is being created in subordinates, peers and superiors and encourage this type of perspective in others
Undertake room checks to follow through on previous orders given and ensure compliance thereto ensure that daily room inspections are conducted

Qualifications and Experiences

Diploma in Hotel Management will be an advantage

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor / Manager
Working knowledge of OPERA will be an advantage
