An exciting vacancy exists at Corporate Office for an experienced Event Management professional within the Corporate Affairs division.

Key Performance Outputs

The successful candidate, reporting to the Manager Sponsorship and Events will be responsible for the following:
Managing interactions with relevant stakeholders and third parties/suppliers to ensure successful delivery of the events;
Plan, develop and update calendar events in collaboration with the business;
Ensure reputational gain and compliance to events management guidelines;
Articulate key objectives, key message, target audience and expected outcomes for events to ensure alignment to strategic communication objectives;
Coordinate and manage the execution of staff requirements and events briefs, ensure understanding of roles and responsibilities;
Develop and implement emergency communication plan for each event to ensure smooth flow of event activities and responsibilities in case of absence and delays;
Deliver of events on time, within allocated budget, that meets or even exceeds expectations;
Support ad-hoc events and collaborating in various projects;
Plan, coordinate and manage implementation of events;
Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance;
Ensure adherence to corporate branding requirements;
Compile and submit reports on budget spend and event success.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
Relevant Diploma in Marketing/Public Relations or Communications is essential;
2 – 4 years’ relevant experience in Events / Public Relations / Communications is essential;
Working knowledge of Product and Brand Management;
A good understanding and knowledge of applicable legislation;
Sound knowledge and experience in project management and events coordination;
A valid Code B drivers licence is required.


The ideal candidate should be meticulous, possess good planning and exceptional communication skills (written and verbal). The successful incumbent needs be to customer-centric and actively build and manage social networks both inside and outside the organisation. The role requires an individual who recognizes, manages and promptly resolves conflict in a non-confrontational and polite manner. Lastly, for this role a combination of intuition and analytical thinking is required to solve challenging problems.
