Job description
Candidate's minimum requirements

Education:

· Grade 12 or equivalent

Work experience:

· Previous experience in the same or similar position in a 4/5 star hotel
· Familiar with all duties and procedures in the Events Maintenance Department
· Third language is advantageous

Other:

· Reliable, responsible and dependable to fulfil obligations
· Willingness to work overtime and on public holiday as required
· Attention to detail
· Must be honest and ethical
· Willingness to lead, take charge and offer direction
· Ability to multitask
· Show initiative by taking control of task
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey messages to the rest of the team correctly
· Friendly and service-orientated

Tasks (include but not limited to):

· Set up of venues in different configurations
· Knowledge of principles for providing customer service
· Taking orders for food and beverage from guests
· Ensure facilities and equipment are in optimal condition
· Maintain high standards of working area and events premises
· Make optimal use of materials without wastage
