Electrical/Electronic Production Technician

Purpose:

To develop, implement and maintain production processes to achieve optimum throughput, productivity and efficiency. The incumbent will also be responsible for assessing and training production operators to IPC-A-610 standards

Job Function:

Study of existing processes
Method study
Measure throughput before and after
Improvements to existing processes
Optimization of line layouts and work flow.
Sourcing and implementation of production aids.
Design of suitable solder pallets
Input to the generation of work instructions and other documentation

Ergonomics design
Head up engineering, process and pre-production builds utilizing production resources and organizing feedback meetings.
Design for manufacture input to R&D team.
Ensure building and equipment maintenance schedules are maintained on a regular basis.
Oversight of electrical articulation (both factory and VCC).
Skills assessment and training (Production Staff)
Duties include:

Study of existing processes/ methods
Design of new methods / processes/ work flow etc.
Interfacing with production supervisor and operators
Study of problem production builds / new product development builds
Sourcing of equipment, works aids, pallets
Assessment and training (production staff)
Interfacing with the design engineers and provide input to the development team.
Interfacing provide input to the drawing office
Interfacing with the production department.
Responsible for production efficiency and quality.
Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification
The candidate must have previous production process engineering experience.
Be computer literate.
Be able to work in a team.
Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good root cause analysis and analytic skills.
Previous equipment maintenance experience.
Electrical articulation knowledge.
Industrial Engineering experience/knowledge.
Accountable for:

Self-managed with little to no supervision.
Produce results in line with commitments and agreed objectives.
Analyze existing processes / methods.
Design/ give input to make improvements/ enhancements for existing and future product builds.
Provide quality feedback for improvements.
Directly impacts efficiencies.
