ORCA is seeking a Director / Associate Director / Internal Audit Manager to manage a portfolio of existing, established clients.

Client Duties and Responsibilities

Manage implementation of rolling one and three-year strategic Internal Audit Plans based on the assessment of key areas of risk for each of the clients, having regard to their current operations and risk profiles.
Manage in the improvement of operations proposed in clients’ corporate and strategic plans and effectiveness of their management strategy through risk based audits which are in line with IIA standards.
Manage implementation of annual Internal Audit Plans, including the following primary audits:
Operational audits;
Financial discipline audits;
Compliance audits;

Performance audits;
Governance audits
Compilation of plans, indicating the scope, cost and timelines of each audit.
Assist the client Chief Financial Officers with the preparation of reports for submission to the Audit and Risk Committee, detailing performance against the plan, to allow effective monitoring and intervention when necessary.
Attending Audit and Risk Committee meetings and provide feedback thereat.
Performing ad-hoc audits at the request of the CFO and/or the Audit and Risk Committee / Board of Client.
Performing External Quality Assurance Reviews as well as Annual Improvement Plans of the Internal Audit function for various clients.
Having a sound knowledge of the Companies Act and Regulations, Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Guidelines and Supply Chain Management.

Each assignment normally consists of the defined steps, which the incumbent will be called upon to direct.



Reporting requirements
The structure of the reports and scope to each of the client’s needs to be fit for purpose.
Have the required written presentation skills.

Develop people through effective supervising / coaching of staff
Conduct performance reviews
Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures
Qualifications and Experience:

Relevant tertiary qualification: CIA/CA(SA)
Relevant Public and Private Sector Internal Audit experience (PFMA/MFMA/TR, etc.)
Experience of at least 3 years managerial experience
Work Experience/ Skills Needed
Strong Inter-personal and communication skills
Ability to manage a number of teams and projects at the same time
Able to work under pressure
Timeous and quality written reports
