The Organization

Pay Television: direct-to-home satellite and digital terrestrial television services; and
SVOD: subscription video on demand services across multiple online platforms with a focus on library and local content in developing markets

Purpose of this Role:
This is a key position within our marketing team where you are required to devise and develop an effective communication and marketing plan/strategy to acquire new to Pay TV subscribers across out DStv and GOtv product portfolios. This role is responsible for driving the success of pursuant products, services & brand promise in the market place, ensuring market research such as current trends in their niche and the needs of the consumers, working closely with in country marketing teams, public relations, communications, marketing, customer service, research to help define and leverage the acquisition and development of the DStv/GOtv brand, and drive a annul plan and roadmap integrated with content marketing, brand, PR, social, customer experience and digital.

Set the overall acquisitions marketing comms strategy and objectives for the team
Work across a range of online and offline marketing activities to meet new customer acquisition targets
Track, monitor and assess performance of all marketing activities to generate new subscribers.
Work with BI team to improve reporting capabilities, marketing dashboards and develop understanding of related metrics
Maximise response by media and by campaign through continuous testing and optimisation
Develop & nurture 3rd party opportunities to acquire new subscribers. Build effective working relationships with existing providers and vendors
Lead the execution of all retail, POS and merchandising including decoders
Take a lead role in planning and implementing Future wide/seasonal cross-sell promotions and work closely with the CVM team to ensure your activities drive good customer behaviours (don’t drive high risk high churn profiles)
Actively explore other areas of opportunities to help drive revenues
Report back on performance against agreed KPI’s to senior management
Lead the forecasting and budgeting process for acquisitions marketing budgeting
Manage campaign budgets, channels and expenditures to meet efficiency targets
Take responsibility for the management and ongoing coaching of your direct reports & ensure the team implements their plans as agreed
Share best practice with the wider business & drive continued innovation
Lead the engagement on all marketing calendar with marketing in CORP and in-country and define/ manage the strategic roadmap on how we grow sales, retention, ARPU, CSAT, NPS, consideration and provide leadership across the MAL footprint.
Drive new/new sales and reconnects within the existing customer base
Drive consideration among non-Pay TV and competitors’ customers
Convert customer demand across various channels and touchpoints
Improve and continuously develop best practices in media strategy based on learnings and share across foot print
Set the marketing agenda on priorities and key quarterly campaigns
Develop & nurture 3rd party opportunities Acquire new subscribers.

Qualifications
Degree in a Marketing related area and/or a recognised marketing qualification


Experience
Previous experience working as a brand and/or media manager ideally within a similar industry
Experience of the full marketing mix is essential
10+ years related experience in brand, marketing, media and related functions
5+ years leadership experience
Experience in managing and executing through large teams of people across multiple countries
Proven results of improving customer acquisition. Hands on experience of delivering innovative acquisition marketing campaigns across a range of media channels including print, digital display, email, social media, events, 3rd parties
Experience setting paid budgets and a proven track record of hitting monthly goals for spend, revenue and key performance metrics
Experience of managing a team
