Provide Business Intelligence support across South Africa’s business functions
Optimize, improve and analyze business processes related to the South African business reporting environment
Translate and validate user needs for information management and business intelligence into the functional and technical designs for implementation
Design and generate reports to give analytical and quantitative insights to business in order to make improved operational, tactical and strategic decisions
Business Analysis:

To analyze all reporting requirements and assess the business requirement in terms of feasibility, impact and automation using Power BI
To act as a liaison between business and the technical team on developing BI reports
Ensure good business partnering relationships across the business functions and ensure appropriate information requirements are being delivered to meet the businesses needs
Business Partnering:

To provide support to the business users in the form of investigating discrepancies, addressing errors in terms of reporting and providing feedback to the users
To effectively communicate with Business Process Owners and Key Users to translate their information requirements into business requirements that can be translated into reports
Technical Support:

The ability to extract data and analyze the information in order to define the reporting requirements more effectively and guide business where necessary
The ability to connect to data sources and perform data transformations, modeling and visualizing using Microsoft Power BI Desktop, and configuring dashboards by using the Power BI service
Innovation:

To research and investigate current industry trends and standards in terms of BI processes and technologies deployed across the Group and other Industries and see how that can applied to the South Africa context to enhance and optimize the BI solution

Delivery:

To understand and apply the system development lifecycle when delivering and implementing the reporting requirement
To manage business expectations and prioritize effectively to ensure projects and requirements are delivered within the agreed scope and timelines
To be agile and flexible enough to handle the changing business reporting requirements and handle it in a controlled change management process
Qualification:

University Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering/Information Technology/ Information Science Degree
Any certifications in Power BI or reporting tools would be an added advantage
Solid oral and written communication skills and ability to transform technical knowledge into business language (e.g. reports, presentations, etc.)
Experience:

Minimum 3 years relevant working experience
Minimum of 1 year experience supporting BI or being part of BI projects
Proficiency in implementing direct connectivity to Microsoft SQL and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and implementing data analysis
