2 X Mid-Level Software Engineer

Our client an NPC is looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join their cutting edge agile development team. The successful candidate will work with a team of developers and should have a minimum of 3 years software development experience working with Java or JavaScript technologies in production enterprise environments.

Projects:

You will be joining the organization to work on existing range of Health Information Exchange (HIE) related projects and new ones as they emerge. Their work includes the development and advancement of existing open source tools as well as developing innovative new FHIR server and associated tools that support exchanging health information at scale. Their work is the foundation of some exciting national health systems as well as being used by other teams working in the field of digital health. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to international open source projects, working on setting standards and bringing new ideas to the space as well as helping build sustainable and innovative solutions.

Required Skills and Experience:

Solid understanding of web technologies and protocols
Excellent coding skills and understanding of software design patterns and architecture.
Front End development experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and relevant web platforms and libraries
Use of Agile development practices
Expertise in relational and ideally NoSQL database development
Responsibility for risk management of your own work

Additional Skills and Experience:

Experience in the public health sector
Previous work with Electronic Health Record systems
Other tools: Ansible, Docker, Vagrant, Jenkins, Travis and lots and lots of EC2 and Digital Ocean VMs.
Applicants must have a strong background in computer science and experience working on enterprise software systems.
They should be self-motivated, hardworking, and keen to learn and be interested in public healthcare.
Remuneration:

The successful candidate will be appointed to a one year contract (renewable) which is available immediately.
